TikTok Safe Zone Checker: Annotate an Image for Manual Review

Upload a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image up to 8 MB. It stays on your device. Adjust the four inset guides, review the image yourself, and download an annotated 1080×1920 review PNG. If the source is not 9:16, the image is fitted and letterboxed; the guide positions belong to the output canvas, not the original image’s pixel coordinates.

Inspect your image with custom guides

The initial 10% insets are editable planning values. They are not official platform measurements.

Check the exported design in the actual publishing preview. UI, captions and controls can cover different areas. This tool does not automatically detect text or certify a safe zone.

Start here

Use this tool to create a manual composition-review image: upload a supported still, adjust guides that default to 10%, inspect important details yourself, and export the fitted image with guides as a 1080×1920 PNG. A non-9:16 image is letterboxed to fit, so the overlay is not a measurement of source-image pixels. TikTok’s published safe-zone guidance concerns ads and varies with dimensions, ad-caption length, and ad formats such as anchors; it does not define universal organic-post margins or give this tool an automatic pass/fail result.

Upload an image and create an annotated review PNG

  1. Upload a supported still image

Choose PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 8 MB. The image is opened locally in your browser; this tool does not upload it to DropScope.

  2. Choose your inset guides

Top, bottom, left, and right guides each start at 10% and can be set from 0% to 45%. These are user-defined composition guides, not TikTok measurements.

  3. Inspect the image yourself

Review the text, product edges, controls, and key action against your chosen guides. There is no automatic text, face, or interface detection and no pass/fail verdict.

  4. Download the annotated review PNG

The export is a 1080×1920 PNG with your image fitted to the canvas and your guides drawn on top. A source with a different aspect ratio is letterboxed; the guide coordinates do not describe original-image pixels.

  5. Check the finished post in TikTok

Review the actual post or draft in the current app on the device you plan to use. A still image cannot reproduce every caption length, interface state, display size, or crop.

Example: what a 10% guide means on the exported canvas

For a 720×1280 portrait image, a 1.5× fit fills the 1080×1920 export canvas. The default 10% guides sit 108 pixels from the left and right edges and 192 pixels from the top and bottom. For a square 1080×1080 image, the fit leaves 420-pixel letterbox bands above and below; those same guide lines are still measured on the 1080×1920 output canvas, not as square-source pixel coordinates. The exported PNG is a review copy with the image fitted into the frame, not an edit to the original file.

Why the guides stay adjustable

TikTok’s published In-Feed Ads safe-zone page says the safe-zone size depends on whether the ad is vertical, horizontal, or square, on ad-caption length, and on additional formats. It lists separate standard and with-anchor files, and notes that a preview may differ slightly from the live version because it is not specific to a device. This is advertising guidance; it does not define one official safe area for every organic TikTok post.

What this checker does and does not tell you

It can help you…It cannot establish…
Notice text or a product detail sitting close to an edge you selected.A universal TikTok pixel safe zone or guaranteed visibility across device, caption, account, and interface variations.
Adjust a visual margin to match your own draft and framing choices.TikTok ad approval, organic ranking, policy compliance, or performance.
Compare a still image or thumbnail against your own guides.Automatic text, face, button, or interface detection, or a complete video playback preview.

This differs from the reusable Instagram SVG template

The companion Instagram Reels resource exports a reusable blank SVG guide for design planning; it does not upload or inspect an image. This TikTok checker accepts a user-supplied image and exports a flattened, annotated PNG for manual review. The two outputs serve different tasks. Use the platform reference and in-app preview that match the post you are preparing; neither static guide can guarantee every live interface layout.

What this page can’t establish

  • The tool accepts PNG, JPEG, or WebP images up to 8 MB and exports a fitted 1080×1920 annotated PNG; it does not modify or preserve the original file in the export.
  • Non-9:16 sources are fitted and letterboxed, so the overlay uses output-canvas coordinates rather than original-image pixel coordinates.
  • The guides are user-adjustable planning aids, not official pixel rules for organic TikTok posts; there is no automatic detection or pass/fail verdict.
  • TikTok’s cited safe-zone material concerns ads and varies by layout; confirm an organic post in the current app on the intended device.
