Interactions per view = (likes + comments + shares) ÷ views × 100. If a positive follower count is entered, interactions per follower = (likes + comments + shares) ÷ followers × 100. Both are descriptive ratios from your inputs, not a universal TikTok or Instagram benchmark.
Two denominators answer different questions
The calculator combines likes, comments, and shares, then divides that sum by the denominator shown. The view-based ratio compares those visible interactions with the entered view count. The follower-based ratio compares them with the entered follower count; views and followers are different denominators, so the percentages should not be treated as interchangeable.
Use counts for the same post and capture point. If you compare posts, record when the counts were captured and keep the chosen formula consistent. TikTok's help describes account and post analytics in TikTok Studio, with features that can vary by app and region. This calculator does not fetch those metrics or claim that its formula is a platform-defined standard.
| Input | Illustrative value | Why it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Views | 12,000 | Required denominator for the view ratio. |
| Likes | 600 | Added to the interaction count. |
| Comments | 45 | Added to the interaction count. |
| Shares | 55 | Added to the interaction count. |
| Followers | 4,000 | Optional denominator for the follower ratio. |
Worked calculation
With the illustrative values above, interactions equal 600 + 45 + 55 = 700. The view ratio is 700 ÷ 12,000 × 100 = 5.83%. The follower ratio is 700 ÷ 4,000 × 100 = 17.50%. These made-up counts only demonstrate the arithmetic; they are not a benchmark, typical result, or real creator example.
A follower-based ratio can be higher than 100% if interactions exceed the follower count. That is a mathematical ratio, not evidence that every follower saw the post or that the post reached a particular number of unique people.
Input checks and interpretation limits
Enter whole-number counts from zero upward, and enter more than zero views. If the follower count is unknown, leave it blank; an unknown value should not be entered as though it were a measured zero. The tool checks for negative, fractional, unsafe, or overly large values and asks you to correct them.
This calculation does not include saves, watch time, reach, unique viewers, conversions, sales, paid-versus-organic context, or account analytics. A percentage does not explain why a post received interactions, and there is no universal good-rate threshold supplied here.

What this page can’t establish
- The calculator uses the counts entered by the user and does not connect to TikTok or Instagram.
- The displayed formulas are transparent calculations, not an official platform definition or universal engagement benchmark.
- The ratios do not establish unique people, attention, purchase intent, conversion, sales, or causation.
- Counts captured at different times or from different posts make the comparison harder to interpret.
- Inputs are processed locally in the browser and are not uploaded or saved.
